Approval Process Introduction

Approval functionality makes it impossible to apply changes of a field value without approval of such changes.

When a value of a field engaged in the approval process has been changed, the old values are preserved at the form, and the initiator gets a notification that these changes have been sent. Modified field value first comes to an intermediary area where the decision on whether this value is to be applied or not is made. Then, a modified field value is applied or not depending on the approval decision.

To enable the Approval mechanism for a specific entity, a Process itself (with its stages being specified if applicable), users whose actions are to be checked, an approver team and the fields which are to be checked for approval are to be defined. All these are configured on the Approval Set form for the required entity.

Process

For each custom entity, there can be several processes, but the system selects only one process according to the Selection Conditions. Each process has stages (from 1 to infinity). Each stage has its own Approver Team, which consists of several auditors who have the right to either approve or cancel the changes.
